EU introduces 5th package of sanctions against Russia
BRUSSELS, Apr 11 (PRIME) -- The E.U. has introduced the fifth package of sanctions against Russia over the situation in Ukraine, as seen by PRIME in the union’s Official Journal late on April 8.
The new package envisages sectoral and personal sanctions.
The measures include a coal imports embargo starting from August, prohibition for Russian ships to enter the E.U. ports, restrictions on the Russian and Belarusian transport companies, full prohibition of transactions with four Russia's key banks.
The E.U. also blacklisted 217 people and 18 organizations from Russia to drive the total number of households and organizations blacklisted since 2014 to 1,091 and 80 respectively.
The list of personal sanctions includes VTB Bank, Sovcombank, Novikombank, Otkritie FC Bank, arms producer Kalashnikov, United Engine Corporation (UEC), part of state industrial corporation Rostec, Sberbank CEO German Gref, tycoons Oleg Deripaska, Boris and Igor Rotenbergs.
